Englewood Helping Hand, Inc. is an independent 501(c) (3) nonprofit agency serving the Englewood, Florida area.  They are a community-supported human service agency working to prevent homelessness.  We provide food, rent/utility and other assistance to our clients as well as referral services to other agencies in both Sarasota and Charlotte Counties.  In addition, we strive to meet our client’s needs with toiletries, diapers, personal hygiene products, dish and laundry detergent.  We coordinate with other agencies to help service the people in our area (Sarasota and Charlotte County) so they can obtain human service counseling, job training & other needed help.  Our goal is to assist clients to maintain their housing, employment and quality of life.  Services provided are ONLY available to residents of the greater Englewood area in Sarasota and Charlotte Counties, Including Englewood, Englewood East, Rotonda West, Gulf Cove, El Jobean, Grove City, Cape Haze, Placida and Port Charlotte zip code 33953.  We have outgrown our current facility at the Englewood United Methodist Church and are currently looking to expand into a new building.

Mark Rennie is President of the Board of Englewood Helping Hand, Inc. Mark started volunteering weekly at the pantry in 2017, soon joined the board of directors and became president in 2018. Mark’s strength is his organizational skills developed during 35 years of management positions with Anheuser-Busch Inc. as well as his insight into daily operations at the pantry where he still volunteers twice a week.  His primary focus now is to help grow Helping Hand Ltd. to better service Englewood’s less fortunate by building a new facility through an aggressive fund-raising effort supported by the board, staff and volunteers.   Mark holds a BS in Biochemistry and Biophysics from State University of New York at Plattsburgh as well as an MBA in International Business Management from the University of Phoenix.
