2019 Englewood Pioneer Days
Anyone can enter their original photos in the contest. Local area merchants donate gift certificates for prizes and the finalists will receive a mounted
8x10 copy of their photo. The contest is FREE and fun - so start taking photos and be ready to enter. You could be able to tell your friends that you took the best photo in town!
The entry should include the title of the photo. The photos will be posted on this website so everyone can view the artistic endeavors of their neighbors. Each photo will receive a code number so entries remain anonymous to the judges. No more than two entries per week per photographer, please. Because of the limitations of our website, images larger than 30 Mb or 1920 X 1080 will be resized to fit. The contest opens July 12th and submissions will be accepted until Friday, August 23rd. Then, the ten finalists will be printed and mounted to be displayed so the general public can vote for their favorite.
Englewood Pioneer Days
This year is the 63rd anniversary of our town’s end-of-summer festivities. Englewood Pioneer Days has always been a celebration of our town "Living the Dream". Choose from your own photos and submit your best shots that show how you live out your dreams.
It is easy to submit an entry: just click on the "Submit your Photos Here!" button above. Instructions for filling out the release form and uploading your digital photos make it easy for anyone to submit their entry. Each week’s submissions will be displayed here on this website and a panel of local judges will choose a weekly finalist. After the six week contest is closed for new entries, the judges will select an additional four finalists, so even if you are not chosen as a weekly winner, your photo is still in the running to become one of the ten finalists.
When the contest closes on Friday August 23rd, the ten finalists will go on public display for a week at the Arts Alliance of Lemon Bay at 452 W. Dearborn Street. The public can then vote for their favorite and help pick the winners of the contest. On Sunday, September 1st the voting exhibit will be moved to Pioneer Plaza, for the Pioneer Days Festival. Then, everyone will have one last chance to vote for their favorite at the festival on Sunday and again at the festival after the big Labor Day Parade.
